Our speaker:
Marek obtained his PhD at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he worked under Prof. Gregory J. Hannon on custom genomics approaches for small RNA biology. He subsequently pursued a postdoctoral research position at the University of California, Berkeley, under Prof. Nicholas Ingolia, studying the regulation of translation using bioinformatics and deep learning tools. Upon joining Ardigen, Marek assumed the role of Lead Bioinformatician, collaborating with researchers from the pharmaceutical and biotech industries on projects aimed at accelerating research in the drug discovery field. He later transitioned to the position of Director of Bioinformatics, initially overseeing project delivery, subsequently shifting his focus to the development and management of Ardigen's custom bioinformatics offerings.
